Continuity of Education Plan

Columbia Borough School District’s continuity of education goals is to provide frequent check-ins for the health/safety of students, to provide free learn-from-home digital tools to families, to virtually connect teachers with students, to distribute digital devices to all students, and to provide online planned instruction K12.

At this time, we are unsure when we will return to the school buildings. Therefore, beginning, Monday, April 13, 2020, we will be shifting our education from review to new material or “planned instruction”. Columbia’s “Continuity of Education” plan can be found on our website this is our plan to continue education during this closure. Teachers will be introducing new content to students online, the same as if they were in the buildings. This may be in a different format than classroom, however students are responsible for learning this new content.

A direct link to information on Continuity of Education is on our website at this address, https://www.columbiabsd.org/o/cbsd/page/continuity-of-education-plan--4. There, you will find the Superintendent's letter on Continuity of Education and a list of all student's teachers and staff from each building with their contact information, should you have any questions.

The Columbia Borough School District's primary goal is to preserve the health and safety of our students and staff. Today, The Department of Human Services (DHS) announced the launch of a statewide Support and Referral Helpline staffed by skilled and compassionate staff who will be available 24/7 to Pennsylvanians struggling with anxiety and other challenging emotions due to the COVID-19 emergency and refer them to community-based resources that can further help to meet individual needs.

Information resources for Columbia Parent's, Virtual Drop-ins and FREE, round-the-clock support line can be found, on our Behavioral Health Page, https://www.columbiabsd.org/o/cbsd/page/behavioral-health.

Thank you for your continued support of our students, teachers, and administrators. Please continue to stay safe.
