Millersville Borough Manager, Rebecca Desantis-Randall, visited our AP Government class to share real-world insight into how local government works. Students learned about municipal leadership, community decision-making, and the responsibilities of running a borough.

Experiences like this help bring government from the textbook to real life. Thank you for spending time with our students!

Congratulations to Hill Campus junior Brady Shoff on earning 3rd place in the Environmental, Engineering Technology, and Robotics Division at the North Museum Science and Engineering Fair.

Brady's project, Sun-Powered Screams: A Sustainable Energy Solution for Amusement Parks, investigated the feasibility of using solar power to operate a roller coaster lift hill. By building a working model, he was able to test his hypothesis and evaluate the potential environmental and cost-saving benefits.

We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment!

At the Hill Campus, we’re building a Community of Readers!

At Columbia Middle School, 7th graders are reading Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis, exploring the story of Bud Caldwell and his journey during the Great Depression. Through reading, discussion, and reflection, they are connecting with the characters, history, and themes of perseverance and hope.

Our students are discovering the joy of reading—one page, one story, and one connection at a time.

Students from the CHS Theater Department participated in a field trip to the Fulton Theatre where they explored behind-the-scenes careers that bring a stage production to life.

From lighting design and set construction to costume creation, students had the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals. Opportunities like this give our students a greater appreciation for the collaborative effort behind the spotlight — and may even inspire the next generation of designers, technicians, and theater professionals.

Hill Campus juniors and seniors recently visited Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology as part of our ongoing commitment to college and career readiness.

During the tour, students explored hands-on technical majors, learned about in-demand career pathways, and discovered postsecondary options that align with workforce needs. Through time spent in state-of-the-art labs and conversations with faculty, they gained valuable insight into industry-driven training, credential opportunities, and the skills employers are seeking.

Opportunities like this empower our students to make informed decisions about their futures and take confident steps toward college, careers, and beyond.

As part of a collaborative design challenge, high school students in our 3rd period gym class researched and evaluated the equipment needed to build a comprehensive, well-balanced weight room. After analyzing options such as weight racks with Olympic bars and additional cable machines, students worked to develop thoughtful, functional redesign proposals.

Congratulations to Ethan McNair, whose final design successfully integrated the class’s research and collective ideas into a cohesive and balanced plan.

Through this hands-on project, students applied critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving skills—while helping shape a weight room that will build confidence and enhance the workout experience for future students.
