👟🗺️ Our 5th grade students laced up their walking shoes and stepped back in time during the Columbia Historical Society Walking Tour! 👟🗺️
Students explored the rich history of Columbia while learning about important landmarks, stories, and the people who helped shape our community. What a great way to bring history to life outside the classroom!

Our 6th grade students have officially become city planners, architects, engineers, and designers during their exciting Geocity projects!
Students worked together to design and build their own cities using geometry concepts, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. From towering buildings to carefully planned streets and community spaces, their imagination truly came to life!
This hands-on project helped students apply real-world math concepts like 2D and 3D shapes, area, perimeter, and spatial reasoning in a fun and engaging way. We are so proud of the creativity, collaboration, and hard work our students showed throughout the project! 👏

Lights, lasers, music, and lots of excitement! ✨🔦🎶
Our students at Columbia Middle School - Taylor Campus were rewarded with an amazing laser show after working incredibly hard on their PSSAs! Students enjoyed a dazzling experience filled with high-energy music, colorful lasers, and nonstop fun. 🌈🚀
We are so proud of the focus, determination, and effort our students showed throughout testing. This was a well-deserved celebration for all of their hard work!

The Leaders of Future Generations (LFG) is an after-school program that helps students build leadership skills while making a positive impact in our school community. Through discussions, activities, and student-led projects, participants learn about responsibility, respect, teamwork, and how their choices can help shape a safe and supportive school environment.
One of the key focuses of LFG is promoting kindness and bullying prevention, encouraging students to speak up, support one another, and model positive behavior for their peers.
A big thank you to Mr. James and Ms. Vanessa for leading this program and creating opportunities for students to grow as confident, thoughtful leaders.

Throwback to one of our favorite hands-on activities—Peep Parachutes! 🐥🪂
Students worked together to design and build parachutes to safely land their marshmallow “peeps.” It was a fun way to practice teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving while putting their designs to the test!

Our 6th graders recently participated in a BizTown mayoral election! 🗳️
It was a very close race, and we are so proud of all the students who stepped up as candidates and voters.
BizTown is a hands-on program that combines classroom learning with a real-world simulation, where students run businesses, manage finances, and take on roles as citizens in a functioning town. Experiences like this help build leadership, teamwork, and financial literacy skills that will last a lifetime.

🌎 Earth Day Celebration at Columbia Middle School – Taylor Campus 🌱
Our students had a fantastic time celebrating Earth Day with hands-on, creative, and outdoor activities! Students made bird feeders, decorated succulent pots, and spent time enjoying the fresh air while learning the importance of caring for our planet.
We were also excited to have Edible Garden join in the celebration, helping make the day even more meaningful and engaging for our students.
It was a great reminder that small actions—like supporting wildlife, growing plants, and appreciating nature—can make a big impact. Thank you to everyone who helped make this Earth Day celebration a success! 🌿
