The Leaders of Future Generations (LFG) is an after-school program that helps students build leadership skills while making a positive impact in our school community. Through discussions, activities, and student-led projects, participants learn about responsibility, respect, teamwork, and how their choices can help shape a safe and supportive school environment.
One of the key focuses of LFG is promoting kindness and bullying prevention, encouraging students to speak up, support one another, and model positive behavior for their peers.
A big thank you to Mr. James and Ms. Vanessa for leading this program and creating opportunities for students to grow as confident, thoughtful leaders.

Throwback to one of our favorite hands-on activities—Peep Parachutes! 🐥🪂
Students worked together to design and build parachutes to safely land their marshmallow “peeps.” It was a fun way to practice teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving while putting their designs to the test!
We love seeing our students learn through collaboration and a little bit of sweet fun! 💛

Our 6th graders recently participated in a BizTown mayoral election! 🗳️
It was a very close race, and we are so proud of all the students who stepped up as candidates and voters.
BizTown is a hands-on program that combines classroom learning with a real-world simulation, where students run businesses, manage finances, and take on roles as citizens in a functioning town. Experiences like this help build leadership, teamwork, and financial literacy skills that will last a lifetime.
Great job to all of our students for their enthusiasm, hard work, and school spirit!

🌎 Earth Day Celebration at Columbia Middle School – Taylor Campus 🌱
Our students had a fantastic time celebrating Earth Day with hands-on, creative, and outdoor activities! Students made bird feeders, decorated succulent pots, and spent time enjoying the fresh air while learning the importance of caring for our planet.
We were also excited to have Edible Garden join in the celebration, helping make the day even more meaningful and engaging for our students.
It was a great reminder that small actions—like supporting wildlife, growing plants, and appreciating nature—can make a big impact. Thank you to everyone who helped make this Earth Day celebration a success! 🌿
