Columbia Graduate Peyton Gilbert Named Pennsylvania High School Baseball Player of the Year

Columbia Borough School District is proud to congratulate 2026 Columbia High School graduate Peyton Gilbert on being named the 2026 Pennsylvania High School Baseball Player of the Year in the High School On SI statewide fan vote.

Gilbert earned the honor after receiving 48.62% of the statewide vote, recognizing an unforgettable final high school baseball season that established him as one of Pennsylvania's premier pitchers. During the 2026 season, Peyton compiled an outstanding 7-3 record, a remarkable 0.80 earned run average (ERA), 154 strikeouts, and only 17 walks over 69.2 innings pitched. His dominant performances helped lead the Crimson Tide while demonstrating the dedication, work ethic, and competitive spirit that define Columbia athletics.

Although Peyton graduated in May, this statewide recognition serves as a fitting celebration of an exceptional high school career. The award reflects not only his individual accomplishments but also the support of his teammates, coaches, family, and the Columbia community, who rallied behind him throughout the statewide voting process.
