Mrs. Winters' kindergarten students met their third grade buddies from Mrs. Carles' class today! The third graders interviewed their new buddy and the students were able to learn about each other. We look forward to growing and learning together this school year!

Our Student Ambassadors sponsored a Pumpkin Decorating Contest, and the creativity was incredible! From silly and spooky to colorful and creative, our classrooms did an amazing job bringing their pumpkins to life. 🎃

All money collected through voting will be donated to the CBSD food pantry to support our community! A big thank you to our Student Ambassadors for organizing such a fun fall activity and to everyone who participated!

October is Fire Prevention Month, and today Park Elementary was excited to welcome the Columbia Borough Fire Department! 🔥🚒

Our students had a great time learning about fire safety, meeting our local firefighters, and discovering how firefighters help keep our community safe. 👩‍🚒

A huge THANK YOU to the Columbia Borough Fire Department for spending time with our students and helping us learn how to stay safe! We appreciate all you do for our Columbia community!

The students in Mrs. Blome's and Ms. Simm's class practiced greeting people and saying "Trick or Treat" while they visited different classrooms. All of the students (and staff) were dressed like their favorite book characters as they worked on their communication skills. We are Park Proud!

🍠🌱 Sweet Potato Fun in Kindergarten!

Ms. Helton’s Kindergarten gardeners were busy! They picked sweet potatoes, weighed them, and took their harvest home. Then came the best part: making and tasting sweet potato & chickpea hummus dip!

We love seeing our Park students dig, discover, create, and taste their way through learning!

Last Thursday, Columbia Borough School District staff traded the classrooms for the parade route and joined in the Halloween fun!

We had an amazing time walking together, seeing our students and families, and celebrating with our Columbia community. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the night so much fun!

Our kindergarten students in Ms. Stockslager and Ms. Helton's classes wrapped up Module 1 of Arts & Letters with a nature walk! Students explored the outdoors using their five senses to notice the sights, sounds, smells, textures, and wonders of nature. 👀👂👃✋

Today, CBSD celebrated Walk or Roll to School Day—a reminder of the importance of safe, active routes to school.

We are especially grateful for our crossing guards, who show up each day to help our students and families safely get to and from school. Their care, attention, and presence make a meaningful difference in our community.

Pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility. Whether you are walking, biking, driving, or rolling through town, please stay alert, slow down near schools and crosswalks, follow traffic laws, use designated crossings, and always follow the directions of crossing guards.
