Parents and Caregivers: Thank you for your response to our first survey. Due to your responses we can make necessary adjustments to our Grab & Go program. We had an overwhelming majority of parents wanting meal bundles for 3 days reducing pick up to once a week instead of three times a week. We also put the grab and go menu option on Park and Taylor’s October menu and implemented more variety. We would like your opinion on one more item; timing of meal bundle pick up. If you have any other suggestion or concerns please email Alaina Melendez, Director of Food Services at amelendez@columbiabsd.org. Join us in celebrating National School Breakfast Week (NSBW). It is a week long celebration from March 4–8 of the federal School Breakfast Program, which provides nearly 12.5 million low-income children with a nutritious breakfast each school day. Celebration activities during NSBW can raise awareness about the healthy breakfast served at school, increase student participation, and provide a value service to the community. During the 2018/19 school year we served 28,177 breakfasts to our students. To help promote school breakfast during this week we will be decorating lunch lines in an “Out of This World” theme, have lucky tray days, and provide bookmarks and pencils to each students who participates in school breakfast during this week.
