The CBSD Public Health Team met today, and the number of student cases at Columbia High School has reached 7 cases today. Good afternoon Parents and Caregivers of CBSD
This is Dr. Gregg McGough Interim Superintendent.
The District’s Public Health Team was just made aware of a COVID 19 case from the community and through contact tracing it will impact teachers and students at all three buildings. At this time, the schools will not be properly staffed. The district is taking two(2) decisive actions.
1. On Thursday November 19th, the school district is calling for an early dismissal for students at 1PM. The school nurses at each of the three(3) buildings will communicate with those teachers and students who are considered a “direct contact.” The school nurse will contact either you or your student if he or she came into direct contact.
2. The school district is shifting to remote learning on Friday (11.20.2020), Monday (11.23.2020), and Tuesday (11.24.2020). We will re-evaluate next week and will be in contact with all stakeholders by the end of the week.
The district administration appreciates your patience and understanding in dealing with this recent incident.
If this rapid shift presents a hardship for you or your family today, please contact the principal and your student can remain with us until the end of the scheduled school day.
If you have any questions or issues, please contact your building principal.
Have a wonderful day!

In honor of our Columbia High Seniors, we are lighting the Christmas Tree on top of the High School every night, starting tomorrow, April 20th until graduation. We invite you to show your support by lighting your Holiday lights too. Take a picture and post it with #TIDELightsSupportSeniors2020

Our Children are Little Heroes, Too!
They are missing their grandparents, extended family, friends and school.
They lack normal routines, and the loss of structure to their day.
Their parents maybe stressed, worried scared and just different.
They overhear talk and news without an understanding of what they hear.
Give your little hero more cuddles, more one-on-one playtime, and an extra dose of patience and forgiveness.

Join us in celebrating National School Breakfast Week (NSBW). It is a week long celebration from March 4–8 of the federal School Breakfast Program, which provides nearly 12.5 million low-income children with a nutritious breakfast each school day. Celebration activities during NSBW can raise awareness about the healthy breakfast served at school, increase student participation, and provide a value service to the community.
During the 2018/19 school year we served 28,177 breakfasts to our students. To help promote school breakfast during this week we will be decorating lunch lines in an “Out of This World” theme, have lucky tray days, and provide bookmarks and pencils to each students who participates in school breakfast during this week.
