A Message From the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am excited for the start of the new school year.  This year will again be full of learning and excitement as we strive to become the best learners we can become.  This year Park Elementary will be a Family of Learners.  All of us, Teachers, Administration, Secretaries, Recess aides, Cafeteria Workers, Custodial Staff and Students and Parents are going to be working to learn and grow as a family.

The Staff will be learning as we implement a new School-Wide Positive Behavior Support plan.  The Plan is called: P.R.I.D.E. IN THE Tide.

P = Positive Behavior

R = respect for All

I = Integrity

D = Do the Right thing

E = Effort in Learning

Students will be recognized for doing the things that meet the P.R.I.D.E. guidelines.  The students will receive a PRIDE Wave Card that will show that the student was meeting the PRIDE guidelines.  This card will be displayed on a bulletin board in the hallway.  The students will also receive a sticker that shows that they received a PRIDE Wave card.  All of the staff will be looking for opportunities to recognize students who display appropriate positive behavior.

One of the most important parts of the overall education of our students and your children is their attendance at school.  Attendance is the one area that you as a parent have the most influence on your child’s education.  The fact is attendance is mandatory and can have legal ramification.  Attendance at school is compulsory, that means that your child must attend a school program (Public, private, home or cyber school) and maintain good attendance.  It is mine and the staffs sincere hope that you will help your child/children to come to school and learn.  We cannot help your child/children reach their greatest potential if they are not in school.  So as part of our Learning Family I am charging you with the goal of helping your child attend school.
