District Facilities
The custodial and maintenance staff take great pride in our school district buildings and grounds. The goal of this department is to provide a clean and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

The main office is located in the District Administration Office, 200 North Fifth Street, Columbia, PA 17512. Telephone: 717-681-2215, Fax: 717-681-2220.

The building and grounds department works year-round – during the summer, during the day, during the night, as well weekends – providing the staff and students of Columbia Borough School District with well-maintained academic and athletic facilities. We oversee the entire district’s preventative and corrective maintenance, improvements, renovations, long-range planning, and day-to-day building operations – including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing needs, snow and ice removal, mowing – setup events and respond to after hours’ emergencies. In addition to the grounds keeping for all (5) buildings, we also handle all maintenance of the district athletic fields. The staff consists of the Buildings & Grounds Director and District Electrician/Maintenance, two grounds keepers, and three Head Custodians. The Buildings & Grounds Department also employs a crew of approximately 20 custodians responsible for cleaning and maintaining each school building.
